Mykola Tomenko: The Country needs an Effective United Opposition

On Monday, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the students and the faculty of Prykarpatskyi Vasyl Stefanyk National University. Mykola Tomenko stated: "Assessing the presidential election campaign, one shall admit that the presidential elections were not won by the Party of Regions, but lost by the democratic forces whose discord and conflicts helped Viktor Yanukovych become the President".

M.Tomenko stated: "At present, Ukrainian values are at risk, therefore, it would be absurd for the forces in opposition to the acting Government to continue the conflicts". Thus, he called for "the united democratic opposition".

The Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commented upon the appointments in the newly-elected Government. He stated: "Appointment of people who disregard Ukrainian State and values shall not be permitted". M.Tomenko admits the possibility that "the opposition will initiate dismissal of the ministers with anti-Ukrainian stand in two weeks".
